Throwing Power of Embedded Anodes for the Galvanic Cathodic Protection of Steel in Concrete

The chloride-induced corrosion of steel reinforcement is one the main causes deterioration reinforced concrete structures. Cathodic protection (CP) in a widely accepted repair technique to reduce, or completely stop, corrosion. One possible method cathodic through use embedded galvanic (sacrificial) anodes, consisting zinc metal core surrounded by precast alkali-activated cementitious mortar. design CP system based on anodes required amount material and throwing power anode (i.e., radius around which achieves sufficient protection). In this research, surrounding an was evaluated depolarisation measurements with internal external reference electrodes. Based these measurements, determined, taking into account 100 mV criterium (cf.
